I am so happy to be welcoming students back into the art room for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year!
To prevent the spread of Covid-19, families have been asked to provide individual supplies to their students. If you need this list again, please dojo message or email me. Students have been creating Valentine inspired artworks. Kindergarten and 1st grade students are learning about artist Peter Max. They are emulating his eclectic, colorful style in their own Valentine inspired paintings. We learned about proper painting procedures. Second graders are using complementary color pairs in their heart themed artworks. Complementary colors are colors that are across each other on the color wheel, such as, green and red or orange and blue. Third grade students are making unique owl drawings using their observational skills. We used references to create one of a kind, stylized owl paintings. Fourth graders are making color wheels int he shape of a heart jewel. The color wheels have the three main color groups: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Fifth grade students are drawing 3 dimensional conversation hearts on an analogous color scheme background. Analogous colors are three or four colors next to each other on the color wheel, like, yellow, green and blue or red, orange, and yellow. I continue to be impressed with the creativity and enthusiasm our Plato artists exhibit daily! Mrs. Kurasz
