We did the monster mash this October!
Kindergartners and first graders learned about geometric and free form shapes while creating their scribble monsters. Second graders created Emotion monsters after hearing the story “The Color Monster” Students discusses how color can express emotion. Third grade continued to practice using value as we created donut monsters. -Mrs. Kurasz

Third and fifth grade spent October creating Spiders and Snakes. Third grade learned about the color wheel and value while making their spider webs. Fifth graders created an optical illusion by shading their snake.

KG-Kindergartners learned about pop artist Romero Britto who uses bright colors and bold patterns to create eye popping designs! We created our own Romero Britto inspired pumpkins with warm or cool color patterns. 1st-First graders learned about impressionist artist Vincent can Gogh and created a Starry Night inspired pumpkin patch. 2nd- Second graders studied the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, the polka dot queen! They created pumpkins riddled with polka dots like Yayoi. 4th- Fourth grade learned of positive and negative space in an artwork. They created a positive negative space artwork to depict a daytime and nighttime pumpkin patch. Enjoy these photos of some of the students completed works! -Mrs. Kurasz |
