Just a few updates as we approach the end of our third week of school!
1. Thank you so much to all the families who have donated supplies! Your support for the art department is deeply appreciated. Your donations help create a quality art education for your child, as well as, other Plato students. 2. The Square 1 Art fundraiser will be happening in October. Students are currently working hard creating an artwork for our fundraiser. You will have the opportunity to buy products with your child’s artwork on it! These make excellent gifts for the holidays or keepsakes to treasure for years to come. 3. All Plato students are learning about Vincent van Gogh. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders are creating their own Starry Night. 3rd and 4th graders are creating their own Sunflowers. We discussed Van Gogh’s life, painting style, and made observations about his most famous artworks. Don’t forget to checkout Instagram>>>>>@platoacademyart That’s all the art room news for now! Dear Plato Academy Families, My name is Michelle Kurasz and I will be your child’s art teacher this year. I am very excited to join the Plato Academy family and help your student grow in their artistic and creative abilities. This will be my 6th year teaching art in Pasco County. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Art Education from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. I have a Florida Teaching Certificate in Art for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Prior to coming to Plato Academy, I have taught in Pasco County Public Schools where I was awarded Teacher of the Year at my school during the 2015-2016 school year. Outside of teaching, I volunteer my time as a committee member for the Suncoast Arts Fest, an annual art event in Wesley Chapel. I also teach art courses to children at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. When I am not teaching art, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 1 year old son, and our dog Marci. I also love to exercise, drink coffee, watch movies, craft, and spend time with friends. Thanks for taking some time to get to know me. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to creating art with your child this year! Sincerely, Mrs. Kurasz See more about what is happening in art on Instagram: @platoacademyart Attached below are the documents from open house at both campuses. ![]()
